Project Engineer

The Teesworks Regeneration Programme encompasses some 2,300 acres of development land and represents the largest single regeneration opportunity in the UK. It is a complex, major capital works undertaking that will likely be delivered across a 15 to 25-year timeframe. Essential to the success of the programme will be the efficient delivery of a very diverse array of projects and project commissions under the direct control of STDC, within an integrated programme, covering: ground investigation and site assessment; decontamination; demolition; ground remediation; transport and utilities infrastructure; marine works; environmental management and habitat protection/improvement; flood risk management; energy management; buildings; landscaping and public realm; and community-oriented schemes. The project work of STDC will also involve the integration of numerous new industrial development projects into the overall delivery of the regeneration programme, requiring, on occasions, the delivery of turnkey building projects to facilitate such developments going ahead.

STDC has been in operation for just over three years and has made appreciable progress in that time. However, the intensity of project and programme activity is now ramping up significantly across the Teesworks site. There is, therefore, a requirement to grow the programme delivery team.

In the role of Project Engineer, you will work in support of STDC Project Managers in managing, at the client level, the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, encompassing consultancy, investigatory, demolition and construction services, while taking specific responsibility for the delivery of various sub-projects and project t tasks, and discrete, smaller-scale projects.

The role of Project Engineer represents an excellent opportunity to join only the third ever Mayoral Development Corporation in the UK, in the early stages of the programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-profile, dynamic delivery organisation on a regeneration programme of national significance.
